Bend to Eugene OR

Will be going from Bend to Eugene in a 36 ft DP MH with tow dolly toad last week of September this year.
Looking to go from Bend to Sisters and then either take HW 242 from Sisters to HW 126 and on to Eugene.
OR
US 20 from Sisters and then go down HW 126 to Eugene.
OR
US 97 down from Bend then HW 58 to Eugene
Any suggestions on which route to take.
  • 22/126 is fine. Can be a bit slow over some of the way, but its an easy drive. It drops you in Springfield and you have to jog around a bit to get back on a 4 lane. If your heading south 58 can be a better route.
  • 97 to 58 is probably the easiest very scenic, two lane major highways lands you right on i-5
  • We are not in a hurry. Been camp hosting for the BLM in Idaho and going to Eugene for suspension upgrades to our MH. Leaving Soda Springs on the 9/20. Have large solar/Gen so going to take it slow as we have been cooped up in this FHU host site all summer.
So not looking for the fast route but a driveable scenic route with nice boondocking campsites.
    Thanks for your input.
  • From my question also posted on Facebook "Living My RV Dream" found out HW 242 has restrictions of 35 ft. So we can not go that way.
  • DO NOT PLAN ON TAKING HIGHWAY 242 !!! This road is length restricted.. You would never make it. Stick with Higghway 126. It is excellent, and the best route for you.
  • It’s nice country. Last time through I was so busy enjoying the scenery I forgot to stress about the road.
  • Any route except 242 would be fine.
If you would like to see 242 (it is very pretty), leave your trailer in the Sisters/Camp Sherman area and just drive your truck up.
