Yes, disc brakes. My friend, since he is at the edge of weight limits on his SUV and trailer, converted to ceramic disc brakes.
I know, my brakes overheat coming down that 9,000 feet above sea level Tiioga pass where even with the downshift the trailer was still pushing my vehicle.
