I think you will be fine on the up grades, shift down to save your brakes on the down grades. Go down in the same gear you go up in or even lower. I recommend flushing the brake fluid if it has not been done recently. I have driven 3 class C motor homes over the mountains, the newest was a '78 and the oldest was a '73. The only problem I had was vapor lock in the '78, it was a 350 Chevy and I found if I burned premium gas I had no problems with it. The other 2 were Dodges and no problems at all.
