- padredwNomadOK, here is one possibility. Assumptions: few Interstates; about 350 miles driving per day; full hook-up RV Parks.
From Montgomery US 82 through Tuscaloosa on to Lake Village Arkansas: Pecan Grove RV Park. 341 miles.
Day 2: Continue US 82 to Sherman or Gainsville, TX. I will use Gainsville as there are several RV parks in the area: 370 miles
Day 3: Continue US 82 to intersection with US 287 on through Wichita Falls to Amarillo. North to Dumas, TX. A new RV park just south of the city: 356 miles
Day 4: on US 87, then US 64 through Dalhart, Clayton, NM to Raton. Here I see no good reason to avoid I-25 North over Raton Pass--a very easy pass and a good highway, not too much traffic in my experience.
There are many variations possible. By adding a day, I could find some better places for overnight, but 350 miles seems desirable to many people.
The only part of this route I have not towed (34' fifth-wheel) is a short section around Texarkana as we would not use that route to come to our home.
