Best Route around LA from Palm Springs to Santa Barbara

Thanks so much to all of you who responded. We made it safely to Carmel, left Palm Desert this am at 8 and made it to Carmel around 5. That 55 mph speed limit is a killer! Traffic was not bad, a few slow downs around Pasadena, but we never stopped in the line of traffic. We chose to stay on 5 till we got to 46 as we will come back down 101 to go to Malibu. We are out here to go to the ATT at Pebble Beach and then to the Northern Trust at Riviera CC. We enjoyed the drive today, thanks to all of you!
