best route Columbus, OH to Texas Gulf area

I really enjoyed traveling down Natchez Trace Parkway - we spent nearly a month, stopping at Natchez Trace Thousand Trails, and three Mississippi state parks. I liked the easy going 50 mph speed limit on the trace with no commercial traffic. (we blogged several entries about the trip - linked in my sig. line).

Having said that, if I were in the point-to-point mode I'd probably do Nashville - Little Rock - Houston.
