best route from Jasper Alberta to Grande Prairie Alberta

Lots of oil service trucks coming on and off it's asphalt covred in mud. If it's sloppy make sure you have plenty of wiper fluid.

Yep Hwy 40 is the way to go. Went up that way last year. Be careful with all the oil field trucks in that area. They tend to throw rocks when they get back on the paved road.

Highway 40 is all pavement. North of Grand Cache is newer pavement, south of Grand Cache is older pavement.

You only have one choice, Highway 40.

From Jasper to Grand Cache used to be a nice two lane road years ago when I drove it. Grand Cache to Grande Prairie back then was all weather gravel, but I understand is now paved. Mapquest gives it 4 and a half hour. Expect more like 6.
