Best Route from Rapid City to Glacier NP East Side

We're in Rapid City and going to Glacier National Park. Is it best to stay on the Interstates with a motor home or try to zig zag through Montana on US highways? Any suggestions for alternate roads?

We take 3 out of Billings to US-12 at Lavina, west to 191/3 north to US-87/200/3,then west to Great Falls every time we go to G.F. All very good roads.
