You could come south on 97 or I5. Crossing time on I5 will be longer than the truck crossing. Weather will be warmer the closer to the coast you get. But you will also experience more rain. If you cross on 97, follow 97 south to I84 and head west. Pick up I205 north to I5 to Longview,WA, and follow the signs back across to US30 in Oregon. This will take you toward Astoria and US101. If you cross one of the two Vancouver area crossings, then I5 south to Longview and follow the above to the coast.
