If you come down 97 thru Oregon, crossing over on 58 to I5 is the easiest and the one with LEAST snow that time of year. It's a major truck route and skiing location (at the summit of the mountains) and they do an excellent job of keeping it plowed. We have done all of the passes in all different weather conditions and by far, Hwy 58 is the best. It has plenty of turn-outs and passing lanes. You'll come to I5 near Eugene....I'll bow to others on which route to take to the coast.
