Best route Ma to Cape Hatteras NC, thanks

Going to Cape Hatteras from south eastern ma next month towing a 5th wheel. I think I am going route 13 via the Chesapeake by tunnel.

Suggestions? roads to avoid, I know Ny city.
  • thanks for all the info, I also spoke to a friend last night that did va and he confirmed going 13 via tunnel bridge was nice.

  • No I have done the tunnel/bridge and enjoy i. Just be aware of the weather and if it is going to be windy then choose an alternate route

    No when you cross the Delaware Memorial Bridge, follow the signs for Rt 13 South.

  • Propane must be off
    Not more than two non-permanently mounted containers having maximum individual capacity of 105 pounds water capacity or 45 pounds LP-Gas each, or one container having maximum capacity of 60 pounds LP-Gas, or (b) not more than two permanently mounted containers having maximum total capacity of 200 gallons water capacity LP-Gas when used as a motor fuel. Tanks must meet the approved standards of the Department of Transportation and are subject to inspection at toll plaza. They must be properly secured and valves closed while crossing the facility.
