Best route thru NY

What is the best route from south New Jersey (95 n.) to Croton on Hudson in NY on the Hudson River. Pulling 32' TT. Thank for the help in advance.

  • I was at Croton a few years ago. I thought it was a great place
  • On a side note I hope you like Stink Bugs. Was there 2 years ago and still finding them in the RV, dead and alive. The Wife says will never go back. Beautiful Park Though.

  • Having driven those roads to many times, I would look for a more scenic route and enjoy the ride as opposed to the roller derby of 95. There must be an alternate way as most states had nice long forgotten scenic routes before the hyways and byways were installed. We just did something similar in Mass to VT and cut through NH. A long forgotten wonderful roadway with almost no traffic and great views. Took the highway back down and regretted it!
  • You could take 95 to the gsp to 287-87-tappan zee as described above. No worries on towing on the gsp, the limit is for commercial vehicles. You could take 95 over the gwb, but that's a nasty commute.
  • Probably ( I'll let the NJ people say for sure ) 95-287-87 over the Tappan Zee. It looks like Rt 9 goes north from 87. You want to avoid the tpke through Newark and there's some kind of limit on the northern end Garden State Parkway.
