best route to bypass san antonio tx heading south

I'll second taking I-10 straight through.

Did it going westbound with my 35 foot fiver few years back. Mid afternoon and not a problem.

I've also driven some of those loops around San Antonio and they are a pain with traffic.

I-10 was simple.
