- vermilyeExplorerIf you want a nice overnight along OR 138, check out the Susan Creek BLM Campground. Dry camping, but hot showers. A pretty location near Susan Creek Falls.
Susan Creek Falls: - pauljExplorer II58 and 138 are equally good. Both have some nice waterfalls, though 138 has more. Both have a long gradual climb from I5, with a broad summit. 138 drops just a bit to Diamond Lake and the north park entrance. 58 does not get quite as high, but then drops a bit to US97, with another straight climb on the east end of 138 to the park entrance.
- donn0128Explorer IITake 26 over Mt Hood connect with 97 south. Far more scenic than I5. This will put you only a short easy drive up the hill. Make reservations at Diamond Lake Resort at their full hookup campground. From Crater Lake down hill toward Medford, short drive North on I5 Grants Pass. Plan a could of days at Valley of the Rogue State Park and visit Historic Jacksonville, Oregon Vortex, and Oregon Caves before heading down 199 to the redwoods. If your coming next month, be sure to spend a night at LaPine State Park and say hi. We will be hosting there in June.
