We're heading to Gulf State Park, AL (from NC) soon. Have been there before a couple times before, but its been a while.Anyway, this time I'm going to try using the Foley Beach Express to avoid some traffic. Found that they've also finished a large enough portion of the Baldwin Beach Express, I think I'm going to try that, too.From what I can tell, the interchange at I-10 with Baldwin Beach express is not done, so we can't get on the Baldwin express there. That being the case, my plan/route is as follows:From I-65 south, take exit #37, follow 287 to 59, 59 down to I-10Take I-10 east, get off exit #53 for County road 64, follow 64 over to Baldwin Beach express.Turn left onto Baldwin Beach Express, take it down to Foley Beach Express, follow it down to Gulf ShoresAnyone know if Baldwin Beach express/I-10 interchange is complete, or will be by this weekend? Also, anyone know if I'll have any problems getting onto the Baldwin express from route 64, as planned? Will I have any problems with these roads with our 36' MH and toad?I guess one real important piece: Anyone know if the Baldwin express is completed from route 90 down to 32 yet or not? If not, obviously my route changes some. :)Any other thoughts, warnings, suggestions, etc. with this route? This seems like best way to avoid the traffic I remember dealing with before on route 59.As always, all suggestions, thoughts are both welcome and appreciated. :)

Well, I guess this answers the question about Baldwin Beach express south of 90:Baldwin Beach Express opening delayedLooks like I'll just take route 59 down to Foley Beach Express, and take it to avoid at least some of the traffic getting into Gulf Shores.Will

I THINK I saw on TV last night that the newBeach Express from I 10 to Foley was to beopened this week. I wish I could give youa definite answer...........maybe someoneelse can help

With my luck its more likely they'll open it the day after we get back home, haha.Even if they just opened the stretch from route 90 down to Foley Beach Express (and don't complete the I-10 interchange), that alone would make it worth taking this route, I think.Time to start searching various new websites from the area, to try and find out for certain.Hopefully somebody local to that area might know, and chime in?Will

I telephoned the Expressway office in Gulf Shores.They said the expressway from I 10 will NOT be finished for 2 months.......they said take U S 59south from I 10 to Summerdale, and the entrance tothe expressway there is clearly marked. Note: the expressway bridge over the intracoastalcanal is a TOLL bridge............don't know theamount.

make sure to make a reservation. I was going to stay there and they told me that I needed to make a reservation at least three weeks in advance.

The Beach Express is still under construction but can still save a lot of time and aggravation if you know how to get to it. Current information on the Beach Express is always at: http://www.how-to-get-to-gulf-shores.com/

..Of course, since we're coming from NC, and will come down I-65 to get there, not I-10....Getting on I-10 and going that far east only to travel BACK west on Gulf Breeze Hwy would kinda be akin to going around one's elbow to get to their.......you know. :)

Very pretty drive, and not all that far to Foley. Of course, they could always drop down to US Hwy 90.

The toll bridge on the Foley Expressway is $3.50 each way....sure beats Hwy 59. That said, getting off I-10 in Pensacola and taking 98 across to 293 south is a very scenic and enjoyable drive. We did it this afternoon......missed the rain in Foley/Gulf Shores.....:W......Dennis
