Never had an issue driving Hwy 79 up to I-10. Two laned but well maintained. Pechanga is a nice RV park adjacent to the casino and has a pool and convenience store next door. Casino provides a free tram to and from the casino, 24 hours a day.
Another option is Lake Skinner. It is close to the many wineries east of Temecula and is located on Hwy 79. Cheaper than Pechanga but they limit visits to 14 days. They stock lake Skinner with trout in the winter if you like to fish.
Might mix it up. Can't speak to the Hemet RV park but Hemet does not offer much from a recreational or entertainment perspective. Temecula has many venues that offer dining and entertainment and is about 15 minutes from either park.
