Retired out of Temecula. Currently building a place in Murrieta. 79 is the route I use in our 37'er towing a dinghy. Hemet has seen a dramatic rise in crime. I have not visited any of the RV parks. Pechanga is where we usually stay when in the area because it is very convenient to our medical services & our daughter. And offers lots of good cycling. It is a very nice park with some qualifications. First is that it tends to get rowdy on the weekends. And usually at capacity. Midweek is great. Largely vacant. Passport America for some sites. Its biggest concern for many is that if you don't book way in advance, you will likely be moving from site to site for extended stays. Lake Skinner offers a gorgeous facility, but is renowned for being party city for the locals on weekends. (We stayed midweek 3 years ago. Camp hosts shared with me their frustration at local law enforcement not allowing them to evict late night partiers.). Where we've been staying a lot lately is Champagne Lakes located between Temecula & Escondido. Where we haven't stayed yet, but have visited, is Rancho California RV resort. It is a facility where you own your own lot but rentals are available. The place is gorgeous! My concern with it is that there have been some very serious accidents on this stretch of highway 79. If you tend to stay at your rig, it is phenomenal. If you tend to explore the area, Champagne Lakes offers easy access to the Temecula & the San Diego areas.
