Best route to Lake Havasu

We are leaving the middle of February from Puyallup, WA to Lake Havasu, AZ. We will be traveling down I-5. Once we are in California what would be the best route to take? We have a 40 Ft motorhome and really don't like unpopulated, narrow or curvy roads.

Depending on where you refuel on your down there is a Loves at Tehachapi, a Pilot and many others on Hwy 15 one mile slouth of the interchange where 58 meets 15 in Barstow. Depending on your fuel mileage you should be able to make the Havasu exit.

I-5 south to 46 east to 99 south to 58 east to I-40 east to AZ-95 south. All good road.

Alternatively you could cut over from I-5 to 99 using CA-120 east just south of Stockton. I-5 is generally a bit faster but both routes are good.

X2 on this route. The exit to Lake Havasu as a Pilot, Standard and a couple other stations at the offramp. Nice wide drive from there to Havasu.

  • Take I5 to Bakersfield. Get onto Hwy 58 to Barstow. Ten take I40 to Lake Havasu exit. Not sure which exit. We have a 36' Travel Trailer we haul from Medford, OR to Bullhead City, AZ. Nice easy route.
  • There is road construction on both Hwy 99 and I5 in Stockton. Best thing to do is get in the middle lane at Hammer Lane north of Stockton on I5 and stay there until you pass the construction zone.
  • For the life of me, I can't figure out any route between Calif. and LH that isn't UNPOPULATED!!!!!! You have mountain passes or you have deserts.... Good luck.
