Also, if you are a mountain biker, there are great trails in the Jackson State Forest nearby -- not at all challenging -- dirt roads through the redwoods. Just be alert for logging trucks -- not a big problem.
You can also ride in Russian Gulch and Van Damme, by the way. Also very easy trails. And there is a coastal trail at MacKerricher State Park. And don't forget the trail next to Big River, just south of Mendocino. Again, not difficult at all -- really just dirt roads, not single-track. (I used to ride technical single tracks. Not anymore. Too many injuries, too old. Sigh.)
