Just got back from a trip to the Grand Canyon in September, along with Moab UT (Arches and Canyonlands National Parks).
I strongly suggest making reservations EARLY to stay at Trailer Village in the Grand Canyon National Park. Not only was the location great, it was really convenient, an easy walk to the park bus.
