Best way around Oklahoma City

Depends on the time of the day(rush hour 5pm-6pm) and if there is a wreck on the road holding up traffic.

If the road looks clear; take 40 straight across and 35 up no problem. If you want guaranteed no obstacles(potential backed up traffic) you can take the turnpike to bypass the interstate. But then you have to deal with 2 toll booths(no line or short line if any).

The highway will seem faster as there is more to see(more scenic). The turnpike seems to wind around and it's mostly remote on the western north/south stretch.
