Too many small towns etc going that way, 55 is much faster 4lane divided highway for most of the way. Have done it both ways and 55 is at least an hour faster for us.

I do the same as Tiger02 and KY-Auctioneer, pick up 331 off of I65.

This is the way we go. Heading down Oct 15. BTW, there is a rest area on 331 at about Alabama MM 8.

I-70 to Louisville then I-65 to AL exit 114. Then AL SR55 to Florala, AL. Then US331 to Santa Rosa Beach, FL.
