DITTO what Drew said!!
There is a wide turnout along the Taylor Highway that is close to the Eagle cut off. We left out RV there and drove to Eagle in the towed.
Did NOT take the RV on the Dalton or Denali Highways. No problem with the towed on these roads. Lots of beautiful scenery and plenty of animals! (blueberries too!!)
There is a nice campground at Kenny Lake which is, I believe, about 40 miles from McCarthy. We parked the RV there and managed to do Kennicott and McCarthy in one long day, 18 hours of sunlight helps, driving the towed. In 2014 McCarthy was a cool little town. The TV show may have spoiled that in 2018! (Ice cream at the hardware store at the end of the street is a must here!)
You probably want to add another day for Chitina and the Yak Farm! The Yak steaks are really, really good!
