I did pull up to a Canada border crossing with two choices:
Several lanes under a canopy, less than 13' clearance.
Second choice, the lane with no canopy said "Commercial Trucks Only". :?
Everyone else was going through the canopy lane. My trailer is over 13', so I pulled toward the empty commercial truck lane, stopped and waited until a customs agent came out and waved me forward. She was very friendly and said I did the right thing. "We want to keep our water pipes" she said. I said "and I want to keep my air conditioner".
I forget what crossing it was.
Just use common sense and you will be fine. Do slow way down for the frost heaves. Some are so bad that 15 mph is too fast. There are less of those and more of the 35 mph type.
There are lots of big rigs up there from the lower 48. Other than the frost heaves, the roads are good.
It's a great trip.
