Go HERE to get the 2013 copy of the Blue Ridge Parkway Directory and Travel Planner. This also includes Skyline Drive.
The 2014 edition is not yet available but last year's edition will give you much info including on page 23 a listing of the Parkway exits for local gas stations since there is no gas available on the Parkway.
You will also note that the campground fees have increased to $20.00 per night but most of the campgrounds did not open until mid-May.
Your challenges may be dense fog at times not only obscuring your viewshed but also making driving dangerous and the possibility of closed sections due to road icing.
Take it slow and enjoy! We spent 3 years living and working on the Blue Ridge Parkway at milepost 339 Crabtree Falls and loved the experience.
