One of the really neat thing about the Stewart/Hyder relation is as follows...Stewart has the only medical facility, an actual hospital. Many Hyder folks are not financially okay. Meaning they are on state of fed assistance, so that means the medical plans..Medicaid? whatever. There is NO med facility in Hyder and don't forget..this a Alaska. Long ways from anywhere US. So, bureaucracy has been dealt common sense and the folks of Hyder that fall into that category, access needed care in Stewart and the BC Medical system does the paperwork. That..is just good policy.
