    Oh yeah...for sure that is gonna fly. Folks in Hyder are as fiercely Yank as any I have ever met. Maybe more so, because they are surrounded by beavers 'n mooses and good beer. Plus, we restrict the flow of Maple Syrup to their restaurants.

  • I have called the CBSA offices in Stewart and asked about closing off the US side...I don't think that they had thought of that. The guy..you could hear him sort of 'gulp'...and then plead off. I was given the area bosses E mail and phone and will follow up.

  • The locals are yelping and I don't blame them. Other than boat or air, that is the only way out of Hyder. What is going to happen during tourist season with the long hours of daylight? Whoever made that decision has never been there.
