As others have said, get a passport for everyone in the vehicle. If you find yourself having to fly, it is required. The border agents want a specific amount of time you plan to spend in Canada. Telling them "two or three weeks" isn't going to work most of the time. Telling them you plan to spend all of June, July and September at a campground in Quebec and that you have reservations, will work just fine. The border agents have a lot of latitude as to what they can ask and require of travelers. Just be honest and to the point with your answers. If a yes or no will answer their question, just use that and leave the explanations till another time, with someone else. LOL Also clue in the others in your vehicle to let the driver do the talking, unless the agent asks a question specifically to a passenger.
A few years back, one of the forum members posted that when asked how long, he replied three weeks, about this time his wife chimed in with "if we like it, we may stay longer". They got to spend the next few hours at the crossing with the officers, going through their RV and discussing the matter of how long they could be in Canada.
And yes, Timmies is a good place to grab a fast breakfast or lunch.
