Canada has tight gun laws Canada also has low rates of deaths by gunshot. We want to keep it that way in our country. Smuggling guns into our country should receive severe consequences such as impoundment of vehicles and possible jail time. Permits for events such as shooting cometetions are available. This is the case for other permitted uses. The extra efforts of the Border Agents to stop undeclared weapons is to be applauded.
