Years ago many of the RV travelers in Baja were in truck campers. They were a different bunch. Ready to go where no man has gone before. They endured roads that by today's standards were impassable. Zero American goods. No convenience foods. Stores with little refrigerators. But lots of Tortillas, beans and rice! And of course BEER!
