Box Canyon Road

Was up there a few weeks ago and drove through to I-10. Pretty good two-lane road and scenic. If you are looking to boondock it could be tough unless you have a truck camper. It had rained the week prior and apparently the road washes out easily as it was apparent a road scraper had pushed mud/dirt off the road and this created about a 12 inch berm along both sides of the road. I wasn't willing to chance crossing it with my Class-C. Probably a good idea to avoid the area during rain periods but it is a nice alternative from freeway driving. Gas is cheap in Mecca.
