Bozeman MT to Pasco WA

We're driving back from Yellowstone starting on May 30th, going through MT, the panhandle of ID, and then eastern WA. I haven't made any reservations for RV parks on the way back. Anyone have a sense for how busy these parks are and if reservations are necessary? I'd much rather make reservations in a park than spend a night or two in a parking lot.
  • Other than Yellowstone I would not expect problems with RV space. It's early in the season - it might be a bit chilly at night. You may consider taking I90 to Missoula and then US Hwy 12. Slow but scenic.
  • You may want to call ahead to be sure, or check them out online, but I doubt you'll run into a full CG everywhere (except of course Yellowstone - but even then, late May is early there). Perhaps on weekends if the CG is near a city or a popular tourist area.
  • It's a great time to camp in Montana. As others have said, a bit chilly, but very few other campers in the parks.
  • Don't mind the chilly or rain. Shoot, we take our trailer out Jan thru March in the Olympic peninsula and have stayed in it when below freezing temps. That's why we got the trailer and don't tent camp anymore. Furnace for the win!

Thanks everyone. I think we may just take it to chance.
