- SideHillSoupExplorerIt is also a main stop over for the migration of the Albertan Rv’er, on their way to the Okanogan. For some reason all the Albertan’s Migrate over to the Mountains and the lakes come this time of year. Can almost set your watch by it. However you’re a little early for the major Migrations that usually starts the week before July 1st.:B
- garyhauptExplorerJust be aware that most of the cg's in the Salmon Arm area abut a very VERY active rail line. There is no shortage of cg's...but they are sooo noisy. You can boondock over at the 'Mall at Piccadilly' and there's a free dump too.

The Shuswap Prov cg's aren't open yet.
Gary Haupt - notlostExplorerwe crossed the border at osoyoos yesterday. thought we'd stay in oliver as our first stop and thought the good sam park (sites showed as capapble of handling a 45' mh) called Camp Along would be good for us.
what they didn't say is that the approach up the hill was steep and curvy with large trees that would've pin striped our coach. we unhooked, backed out and went down the road to penticton and pulled into the first cg we saw...what a relief!
we're at Wrights CG right now and our coach is about 20 feet off the lake..it's beautiful, quiet (season hasn't really started yet)...it's a bit pricey for us ($46) but has 30amp fuh and free wifi! we're happy campers!
our next stop is salmon arms...does anyone have a recommended cg there? - Utah_HaroldExplorerThanks to everyone for their feedback. We have decided to stay a week, so far, at a farm/motor home park in Kelowna and then on to Vancouver and Vancouver Island. It all looks great.
Barbara - MootpointExplorerAnd let's not forget the coast.
- marklisoExplorerOsoyoos is one of my favourite places in BC, but the overall Okanagan Valley is beautiful too, something for everyone.
I prefer to stay here:

Staff is friendly, park is clean, lake is right there, restaurant up top with a winery, lots of access to numerous things to do, the price is pretty decent for what you get. We make it a yearly ritual, especially with our little one now. - trailerbikecampExplorerWhen we used to vacation in Vernon we used to go to places like the O'Keeferanch, Okanagon game farm and of course the lake itself. Also check out Kalamalka lake. It has al sorts of greens and blues that seem to change position, its pretty cool.
Not sure if any of this is still there, its been quite a few years since I've been there. - SideHillSoupExplorerWhat direction are you planning on driving to the Kelowna area, and what way are you planning on heading home? There are a few options that will allow you to see much more than just the Okanogan Valley ( Kelowna area)
Soup - garyhauptExplorerIf you golf, wine, water ski, fish and eat fruit..yep, Okanagan is wonderful. Having said that...the Cariboo is cowboy/horse country. The Kootenays have mountains and wildflife...both of which you will see anyway.
Just an aside..Okanagan weather can be pretty hot.
