Broadband in Neuvo Progreso Mx

We sponsor two girls from a family in Neuvo Progeso so they can go to school.

We are looking to provide them inexpensive internet access.

Was wondering if anyone knows of an internet usb stick and service that we could purchase on this side of the border in the Weslaco area that would still work in Progreso?

or any other viable alternative...

thanks

  • Your best bet is to go to a Telcel company store. For about 500 pesos you can get a ZTE USB stick that will work with any computer, it will include 1 to 2 months of 3G internet service. No stores in Nuevo Progresso, but 3 in Reynosa.

Do they have a Telmex landline? If so, full blown service; high speed internet, landline, 100 minutes of national long distance is $389 pesos per month.

If no landline, it is not expensive. It is unlimited internet service.

No...they don't have a landline...Thank you for the info...I will look into it. I appreciate it!

I would still like to know though if anyone can say whether a Tmobile data plan works in Neuvo Progreso. Walmart has a tablet for $179 that gets decent ratings and comes with 200mb of data per month for life.

  • You would have MUCH better luck getting this answered by posting this in the Mexico section. Lots of great people there with a lot of knowledge.
  • Is there anyone that can confirm that a Tmobile Data Plan and/or sim card will work in Neuvo Progreso?

    Thanks in advance
