Brown bruins around Kluane Lake, Yukon

On a recent three-day RV trip along the Alaska Highway to the Kluane region of Yukon we saw six grizzlies roadside. Kluane Lake is about 100 miles from our place.

One of the brown bears ran helter skelter out of the bush onto the road, causing some mild panic in us because the last time that happened with a bear it hit our vehicle. This time it just missed the back of the fifth wheel as it raced across the highway

Here's some images of the calmer bruins.

  • Loved Congdon Creek campground. We saw 3 grizzlies after we left there heading toward, AK.
  • Yeah, those moose can be silly too...
this one impeding traffic ON the Haines Road in Yukon

Mind you, the elk aren't overly brilliant either...this one near our cabin

  • We saw two along the road but went by too quick to get pictures. After hitting the deer in Missouri, I'm very wary of wildlife on the roadside. I thought bears were smarter than to play in traffic :) !!

After crossing into Alaska a moose did run across the road but well ahead of us.

Thanks for the pictures Sue...I've always enjoyed them.

    Happy Camping !!
