Lived in Gwinnett county North Atlanta. If you wait to hit spaghetti junction (North side outer loop intersection) on 85 south until after 9:15 am you will clear south side in 45 minutes. 6 lanes mostly clear until 2:00 pm.
Traffic starts building at 0645 am. So if you start thru at 0615 you should clear to the south side quickly. By the way the outer loop WILL NOT help. Any other route will cost a lot of time. Had a fleet of a few hundred trailer...
Traffic does fly and does not respect you when changing lanes. Pick a center lane of stay there.
