CA Central Valley

I drive them both changing based on construction reports or just wanting a change of scenery...not much of a change. Since the speed limit in California is 55 and I am comfortable with RV and toad at around 55 to 60 travel time is not an issue. Both roads are "California Excellent" which means they suffer from deferred maintenance and need repair. There is significantly more merging traffic on the 99 since you enter more small towns with older onramps. So the 5 is an easier drive with less merging traffic, but the 99 is more direct to Bakersfield.
