The first time I drove Duffy Lake was in 1984, and road was still gravel. I was in a small SUV, so had no problems with the gravel. Near the top I passed a small RV with overheating problems. The thing that I wasn't prepared for was the stretch along Howe Sound. It's flat and paved, but curvy, and at the end of a long day's drive, tiring even in a car. That day I drove from Mt Robeson to Vancouver.
