Calif Hwy 79 Aguanga, Ca to Yuma, Az

We did, I think. The only part that required some additional control was the last section of 78 that led to the 86/111. After the T in the road turning left the road is pretty tight but plenty of room. Saw several 18 wheelers with hay make it so no problem. Really pretty drive too...much better than going back on I15!

I would take the 2 off of the 78.

Daughter lives in Yuma and likes the 79, 78, 2 route. Takes it in a Focus with her tent.

We've always taken 79 into Borrego Springs and S2 toward Ocotillo. It's a scenic drive and easy. Have a good trip!

One final question. My GPS seems to want me to turn on Hwy 2 San Filipie Rd off Hwy 79. I can't tell what kind of road this one is. Any feedback>??

Thanks everyone. We will give it a try. We like to go new ways anyhow. Weather has been really warm in southern Cal for Feb...I really don't want to fight that I15 traffic in the morning....to many cars and everyone in a hurry!

When we had a lot at Jojoba, we went to Yuma using 79-78 etc. with a dually crew cab and 39' fiver.

That's the way we were going to go. Not in a hurry and truck pulls real well. Just tie everything down! LOL
