I can only think of 3 on the St. Clair Parkway. Cundick, north of Sombra, campground is a long way from the water but there is good day use area on the riverfront. Clay Creek Provincial Park, transient sites are fairly close. Mooretown is quite q way from the water. There are several day use parks along the river where the viewing is good. If you have passports, Algonac State Park across the river in Michigan has good views of the river.
The number of large freighters is about 1 per hour but there are lots of smaller boats to watch. Bring a fishing rod.
