Can anyone in Alberta Help???

Hello everyone,

I'm new here and looking for some information on Wintering in the USA. Can anyone offer some advice on getting across the border?

I know that I can fly but I'm pretty sure it might be difficult to get my truck and trailer airborne, lol. It's a bird it's a plane...its a Ford and a Jayco Trailer ??

If anyone knows of any Alberta companies offering shuttle drivers and or any other advice re flights etc I'd be mighty grateful.

Extra info, I'm based in Lethbridge, Canadian with no USA residency.
  • Thank you everyone for your advice. Yes, these are definitely fluid times. I will look into Kaleidescope for sure. You make a fair point about renting. Lots to think about.
  • As Bugs Bunny would say, ain't this "screwy in St. Louie". At the end of the day the same people with the same camper go to the same places in the USA.

Then governments say "shame on you for gaming the system". That is of course the system that they created. However, I did a similar thing. I flew and rented a camper in Alaska, since I could not drive across Canada. It was cheaper than transporting my camper.

Price the rental option before you pay the transporter, I mean it might be cheaper to rent something at your destination, or rent a car and stay in motels. Just saying.
  • We are in Claresholm. Kaleidoscope Travel (Anita) has organized a Go South package. We are flying private charter from Calgary to Great Falls. Our vehicle is going on a car hauler and will meet us at the airport in Great Falls. They have an option to have your RV transported to Great Falls.
  • There's a few companies shuttling RVs, but the ones I've seen are operating out of larger population centres, like Vancouver or the GTA. Haven't seen any flying out of YYC. The price isn't cheap, either.

No. The US Government has closed the US border to Canadians crossing into the US by land. He is looking for a commercial company that can get his rig across and then he can fly down to meet it.

I believe BCers have used this company but not sure.

Hope it works out for you. Let us know.
