A question to the RV'ers north of the border. We just got our bill for the toll to travel Hwy 407. It was $81.98. How do ya'll afford to travel the roads there with that kind of toll. The bill said $28.43 for the toll and $50.00 for the video and $3.55 account fee. Truck and trailer was considered heavy multi unit vehicle, we traveled 25 km. Kind of steep if you ask me. Just a rant, I'm better now...

I negotiated the charge way down

We avoid the 407 highway - very expensive even for just a car. What is most annoying is this road used to belong to the Province of Ontario and it was sold to a Spanish company so now all the profits go overseas. Another blunder by our wonderful government.

Most of us here avoid it like the plague.....Its OK for business people who must be somewhere on time, have a transponder etc....With the transponder, you avoid the video costs.

Totally disagree. The 407 is wonderful to avoid the constant traffic jams, accidents and gridlock of the 401 across Toronto. We always take the trailer that way with transponder and are only charged the toll fee for the vehicle. Well worth the expense.

I'd rather sit in traffic than pay those fees. I try to avoid Toronto at rush hour whenever possible.I agree with Tripalot.
