MEXICOWANDERER
Aug 18, 2018Explorer
Isn't there some stopgap private coverage that would allow a Canadian to get patched up enough to get back north?
The Mexican Cruz Roja stopped transporting the extraneous to a POE (even when paid in cash). Now it's to a Mexican hospital or nothing. And of course that too is for cash. I wonder whose brilliant idea -that- was?
I did find out from CBP that if a citizen shows up at a POE with what looks like a gunshot or knife wound they are escorted to the hospital, and cannot leave until CBP is satisfied with an answer. When I showed up with Bradycardia, I noticed a group of CPB extracting every single card out of my wallet and noting everything written on them. Try me watching from a six-foot distance.
Neat huh?
Took 25 minutes for a paramedic ambulance to arrive.
Result: Heart block and a dual electrode pacemaker.
