Tequila. That insurance company you quoted is very interesting. I read the policy and much of the coverage is excellent. But the limits for my age are borderline. Then I clicked on eligibility and if you reside in Canada or Australia they will not insure you. Your comment on getting some coverage from our medical in Canada is something that one should get info from your province. Some payments are say 30 or 50% of Mexican charges. Payments for USA coverage vary and canbe as low as 20%. Surgeries pay the least. ADr. Would have to explain. Because the surgeonsare underpaid there is a pool of $$ used to supplement the agreed payment. So a surgery that pays $5000 in Canada but is $100,000 in the USA might get a $60,000 supplement. However a citizen is not entitled to that supplement. Note that my figures are only an example. I do know that my wife had surgery and Manulife gave us a hard time. After fighting for 5 months they paid me for the amount over the provincial coverage and we claimed the rest from the province. The province paid less than 20%. Imagine if it had been a $250,000 procedure in the USA!!! Check with bc to see how they handle claims. The Canadian Snowbird Assoc. has an article on this subject. Some provinces pay almost nothing!!
