I received a reply from novamar which sells insurance on an annual basis. They use iMG Patriot for shorter terms. They will sell to Canadians and it even covers a certain number of days of US transit. However the conditions bother me a bit since they appear to be a bit far reaching:
However they do cover up to $50,000, which is likely enough to cover any injuries as a result in Mexico, so this may be an alternative, especially if yopu also get evac insurance. Some evac is included, but they will take you to the closest hospital which is nto a good idea if you are Canadians. Get :ewis & Lewis auto insurance which will flyt you to Vancouver.
