If one of you might want to go the credit card route, use only Visa or MasterCard, do not use American Express or any other card, most establishments and hospitals in Mexico will not take American Express at all.
It is important for those that travel in Mexico to be aware of the various insurance policies not only from Canada but from the USA as well as what can be obtained in Mexico, it is totally different if you are a Mexican Citizen or a foreigner residing permanently in Mexico in regards to the insurance coverage and that of a turista, so yes by all means keep up the good work all of you, I appreciate the effort off all of you.
