yes, well, I guess if it is really important to be able to fly home in the middle of a road trip, it might end up being the only option. Do it for the full four years and it comes out to just under 100 bucks per year
Your vehicle TIP is good for the visa period as well, so it would make the back and forth across the border less of a hassle over time. You'd only have to do it once down and once back up at the end, then all the subsequent crossings are much fewer steps... Aaaand, you aren't limited to the 180 days in country
