Car rental in Mexico - Puerto Valarta

I heard other stories in restaurants where the bill does not match what's written on the menu in Mexico, especially for a special for two or for is included and finally it is not or there is catch.

I guess I will not rent a car, too much hassle, I hope they will smarted up to get happy tourist. In Cancun, the hotel customer service did not reccommend renting a car, he said take a tour, a cab or the bus.
