Car rental in Mexico - Puerto Valarta

We and our family members who join us annually, have almost always rented a car. Cancun, Oaxaca, Leon, Patzcuaro, Guadalajara, Mazatlan, and other major cities. All have been fine. When they joined us in Zihuatenejo, our second home, it was as above: BUY the insurance or don't get the car.
It's all good, and part of the "experience."
Either way, depending upon your plans, either taxi or do the rental. At least everything is upfront!
