Casa Grande to Quartzite?

Looks like taking I-8 to Gila Bend and the up to I-10 would be a good way to go and miss Phoenix.

Anyone traveled the road from I-8 at Gila Bend up to I-10?

Was a good route...4 lane all the way now from Gila Bend.

    Thanks all.

  • We have driven this route, coming/going from Tucson 4 times so far this year. It is great road AND it allows you to avoid Phoenix which is always a good thing. :B
  • Last time we traveled the road was a maybe 8 years ago. It was then a good two lane road with a few passing lanes IIRC,

  • I've traveled that way many times. If you are planning on traveling on a weekday between 5am-10am or 2pm-7pm, it's the best route to take. If you're travels through Phoenix would occur at another time or a weekend, then the quicker route is usually Phoenix on I-10.

The last time I drove the Phoenix by-pass, highway 85 (Gila Bend to I-10) was in great shape.
